1. Merchant of record
KnowMapped purchases are currently processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record for applicable transactions. We may use another designated payment provider or merchant of record in the future.
The merchant of record may process payments, applicable taxes, invoices, refunds, fraud reviews, payment disputes, and chargebacks.
Refunds may therefore be administered by Education Futures, the applicable merchant of record, or both, depending on the circumstances of the transaction.
2. General refund policy
Except where required by applicable law or otherwise approved by Education Futures or the applicable merchant of record, completed purchases are generally nonrefundable.
We may approve a refund, credit, correction, or other reasonable remedy where appropriate, including in cases involving duplicate charges, billing errors, failure to provide purchased access, or verified technical failures.
Dissatisfaction with AI-generated output does not ordinarily qualify for a monetary refund because generated output may be incomplete, inaccurate, unexpected, or unsuitable for a particular purpose.
3. Professional purchases
Professional is currently offered as a one-time purchase and does not automatically renew.
Professional purchases are generally nonrefundable once the purchase has been completed and Professional access has been activated, except where required by law or where a refund is otherwise approved by Education Futures or the merchant of record.
We may approve a refund or correction where Professional access was not provisioned correctly, the customer was charged more than once for the same purchase, the transaction was made in error, or another billing or service problem warrants a refund.
4. Generation-credit purchases
Generation-credit packs are one-time purchases and do not automatically renew.
Generation-credit purchases are generally nonrefundable once any credits from the purchased pack have been used.
We may, in our discretion, approve a refund for a completely unused generation-credit purchase where appropriate, subject to the merchant of record's processing requirements and applicable law.
Unused generation credits do not have cash value and cannot ordinarily be redeemed or exchanged for money.
5. Mandatory consumer rights
Nothing in this policy limits any cancellation, withdrawal, refund, warranty, or consumer-protection right that cannot lawfully be waived.
Depending on your location and the nature of the transaction, you may have statutory rights to cancel a purchase, withdraw from a contract, receive a refund, or obtain another remedy within a specified period.
Where mandatory law provides rights that are more favorable than this policy, those rights apply.
6. Service failures and billing errors
If a purchased service or entitlement is not delivered because of a verified technical failure, duplicate charge, billing error, or another problem attributable to KnowMapped or its payment provider, we may work with the merchant of record to provide an appropriate refund, credit, correction, or restoration.
Failed AI-assisted generations
When an AI-assisted generation fails because of a verified KnowMapped or provider error, the usual remedy is restoration of the generation credits consumed by that request.
Credits are not automatically restored because generated output is incomplete, inaccurate, unexpected, stylistically undesirable, or unsuitable for your intended purpose.
Restoration of credits following a failed generation does not ordinarily create a right to a monetary refund for the generation-credit pack from which those credits came.
7. Refunds, reversals, and account entitlements
If a Professional purchase is refunded, reversed, charged back, or otherwise canceled after payment, the Professional access associated with that purchase may be removed.
If a generation-credit purchase is refunded, reversed, or charged back, unused credits associated with that purchase may be removed from the account.
If some or all of the affected credits have already been used, we may adjust the account's credit balance or restrict further paid usage as reasonably necessary to reflect the reversed transaction.
A refund or payment reversal does not automatically delete your KnowMapped account or saved maps.
8. Requesting a refund
Refund requests should be submitted using the billing or transaction-support method provided with the purchase or by contacting Education Futures.
You may contact Education Futures at hello@knowmapped.comif you need help locating a transaction or submitting a refund request.
Please include enough information for us to identify the transaction, such as the email address associated with the purchase, approximate purchase date, product purchased, and transaction or invoice number if available.
The applicable merchant of record may request additional transaction information and may approve, partially approve, or decline a refund in accordance with applicable law, its merchant obligations, payment-network requirements, and the terms of the transaction.
9. Chargebacks and payment disputes
If you believe a charge is incorrect, we encourage you to contact us first so that we have an opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue.
You may still exercise any chargeback, payment-dispute, or other remedy available to you through your payment provider or applicable law.
A legitimate chargeback or payment dispute does not by itself constitute a violation of our Terms of Service.
Fraudulent, deliberately abusive, or repeated misuse of refund or chargeback processes may result in account restrictions, suspension, or termination.
